Penfield Players
In honor of 40 years of dedicated service enriching the
quality of life for the Penfield Community
WHEREAS, the first organizational meeting of the community theater group
Penfield Players was called in January 1965; and
WHEREAS, in 2004 the Penfield Players sponsored by the Town of Penfield Parks
and Recreation Department, will celebrate it's 40th year bringing theater and
entertainment to the Penfield community; and
 WHEREAS, The Penfield Players is comprised of several hundred volunteers,
including directors, actors, producers, stage managers, stagehands, publicists,
costumers, makeup, lighting, sound and prop people, carpenters, designers and
many others that are vital to the group's success; and
WHEREAS, The Penfield Players presents three shows every year, each a
different genre; and
Whereas, The Penfield Players first production in 1965 drew and audience of
over 300 to the Penfield High School Auditorium, and they have since performed
over 120 shows and entertained thousands; and
WHEREAS, The Penfield Players, through appreciation of the arts and quality
entertainment, has made a significant contribution to the betterment of the
community;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board and Penfield residents
honor the Penfield Players for the many contributions it has made to the arts in
the Town of Penfield and for maintaining a long history of excellence over the
last 40 years.
